Health Manager

Our agency is looking for a Health Manager that can be filled on a part time (up to 25 hours per week) basis. The ideal schedule is from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.  The candidate must have a LPN, RN or a degree in health education. Requires experience in maternal and child health with a population of birth to 5 years of age. We would prefer a candidate that is bilingual in English and Spanish. The candidate must be familiar with EPSDT program requirements, computer savvy (excel required), hold a valid driver license, and CPR certified.
Agency hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. We are a federally funded non-profit that serves low income families in two separate programs (Early Head Start - home based - pregnant women, children birth to 3 years old and Head Start - center based - children ages 3 to 5 years old). We have a total of three locations all within Lakewood, NJ that serve up to 300 children. The position generally follows a school year calendar.

The Opportunity:  The Director of the Cath Lab reports to the Chief Nursing Officer and will be responsible for managing the control of the patient and staff environment; budgeting; service excellence; and resources.  The Director will work collegially with the medical staff to assure efficient, safe implementation of clinical standards of cardiology practice, and will create a harmonious environment that conveys the hospital’s mission and vision to employees and guests. 

The Candidate:  The successful candidate will be an accomplished, proven cath lab director with a demonstrated history of successfully leading and implementing cardiac cath programs in a high-volume, competitive hospital or health system.  He/She will possess a minimum of three to five years experience managing a clinical cath lab in a facility of similar size, or assisting the direction of a larger cath lab.  A Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from an accredited institution is required, as is a current RN license and certification in a clinical area or nursing administration.  A Master of Science degree in Nursing is preferred.

We are seeking an Executive Director of Cancer Services to function at the Corporate Level to provide focused leadership for all aspects Oncology Services, including but not limited to, overall strategic direction, business development, financial performance, performance improvement, physician collaboration and synergy, market influence, market share growth, patient satisfaction and daily operations throughout our hospital system as we continue to expand our healthcare organization.

This role will have direct line reports and matrix organizational relationships.  The Executive Director of Cancer Services will collaborate with key stakeholders, including hospital owners, senior leadership, physicians, and central members of the cancer team to establish long and short term goal and annual objectives.

The Executive Director of Cancer Services is to be able to use past experience, training, and/or other resources or techniques to anticipate emerging Oncology trends and evaluate impact on current services, technology and market. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Developing business plans, creating marketing and public relations strategies, and coordinating space, equipment, and information systems for all Cancer services in collaboration with institutional subject matter experts and matrix management colleagues.
 
Collaborating with physician medical directors, the Chief Medical Officer, employed and private physician groups to ensure the development of clinical services and the integration of physicians into all aspects of leadership of the service line.

Promoting collegial interdisciplinary team relationships and the patient experience to support seamless delivery of care.

Expanding influence of Cancer Services in the regional market by developing collegial relationships with local, regional and national Oncology programs and providers through relationships, affiliations, and service offerings that are superior for patients and referring physicians and facilities.

Coordinating the development of clinical and educational outreach programs for public education and awareness including screening and early detection programs, patient support groups, and other complementary programs.
 Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in business or health related field.  Masters Degree preferred. 
5-10 years in senior management roles in hospitals, physician practices or managed care organizations or business leadership with demonstrated success.

We are seeking a Nurse Manager for Non-Invasive Cardiology -Cardiac Rehab at Bayonne Medical Center. In this newly created position for our expanding Cardiology Department, you will report to the Vice President of Cardiovascular Services, collaborate with the Physician Director of the Cardiology Non-Invasive and the Cardiac Rehab Unit, and have operational management control of the Cardiology/Cardiac Rehabilitation department.

Tasks include:
• Acting as a resource person to the entire health care team.

• Promoting a positive image of the hospital and department with the public and professional community.

• Reviewing and revising the Quality Assurance Plan for the outpatient unit, implementing its monitoring and evaluation system, and communicating the results this monitoring to the Cardiology Medical Director

• Rounding on patients and staff to assure positive Press Ganey Reports.

• Monitoring, evaluating, and facilitating clinical documentation processes associated with charge capture, including, but not limited to, ensuring patient charts are accurately documented on charge sheet, identifying lost charges, coordinating charge capture, providing ongoing education for staff on charge capture improvement and documentation.

• Preparing recommended staffing for annual operational budget on the basis of available workload and collaborating with the Vice President of Cardiovascular Services for annual budget preparation.


Job Requirements

As a Cardiology Nurse Manager with Bayonne Medical Center, you must have superb written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills as well as excellent multitasking, time management and leadership abilities. You must maintain a patient-oriented focus and demonstrate good planning skills. You must also respond to patient and family needs promptly and compassionately and be able to perform excellent work under stressful circumstances.

The ideal Cardiology Nurse Manager will have varied experience within most areas of hospital Cardiology departments to include Cardiac Rehabilitation.

Qualifications include:

+Current New Jersey RN license
+Current ACLS, BLS, and IV certification required
+5 years nursing experience with a minimum 2 years nursing management experience

Job Description


We are seeking an experienced Telemetry Monitor Technician to maintain continuous cardiac monitoring through observing, interpreting, reporting and recording cardiac rhythms of all telemetry patients. As a Monitor Technician with Bayonne Medical Center, you will report to the Telemetry Nurse Manager to interpret arrhythmias. You will also be required to give report at changing of shifts and maintain logs of required data for all patients admitted to telemetry.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Checking equipment to ensure proper functioning and participating  trouble shooting drills
  • Maintaining standard inventory of required supplies transmitter batteries, limb leads, electrodes and transmitter pouches.
  • Operating monitor equipment mainframe: switching on and off recording strips Operating arrhythmia computer, EKG machine, portable monitor
  • Initiating and terminating cardiac monitoring when ordered
  • Maintaining effective lead placement on all patients and applying electrodes as per policy
  • Setting alarm limits and arrhythmia parameters and removing telemetry transmitter from patient as ordered or directed by nurse
  • Documenting all rhythm tracings and consulting with nursing staff when interpretation of rhythms is difficult.
  • Immediately reporting any abnormalities or sudden changes in cardiac rhythm to physician or appropriate nursing personnel and documenting changes with rhythm slip

Job Requirements:
This is a per diem position that requires prior experience with Telemetry Monitoring.  The incumbent must be able to work independently without additional training.

Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner
Planned Parenthood of Southern New Jersey is seeking a full time Clinician (APN) to rotate among our facilities in Camden, Bellmawr and Edgewater Park. The position will primarily work five day shifts a week with Sundays and holidays off.
 
Qualifications:
Registered Nurse with a NJ license. Graduate of an approved Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner or Nurse-Midwife program. Licensed APN or Midwife in NJ. 1-3 years experience preferred.
Job Duties:

  • Responsible for knowing the medical standards of care and protocols as established by PPSNJ and the New Jersey State Department of Health (Title X and Ambulatory Health Care Licensure)
  • Take and record and/or review and interpret the medical, surgical, obstetrical, gynecological, family, and social history of family planning/gyn and prenatal clients.
  • Perform appropriate medical screening procedures, including but not limited to breast and pelvic examination.  The latter includes speculum examination, bi-manual examination, obtaining materials for STI investigation, cytologic smears (and other specimens as indicated) and other types of more specialized screening procedures as may be indicated by medical policy.
  • Interprets laboratory data and orders appropriate additional laboratory investigations when indicated.
  • Initiate or change hormonal contraceptives as necessary.
  • Insert and remove IUDs; Implanon; fit and check diaphragms.
  • Determine the management and outpatient treatment of vaginitis, STIs, lower urinary tract infection and PID.
  • Provides counsel and advice on family planning methods to clients and receives and handles client questions and problems relating to these methods.
  • Makes and follows up other appropriate medical and social referrals as indicated and provides liaison with health and welfare agencies or with social worker.
  • Carries out group and individual teaching demonstrations, interprets prepared instructions to clients and provides clarification and reinforcement of physician instructions for clients.
  • Provides training supervision of staff and aides function in clinic operation, environmental maintenance and community education.  Helps train new personnel.
  • Provides and maintains client records with all appropriate findings and recommendations.
  • Understands and adheres to all procedures related to clinician’s role in data collection and billing.
  • Participates in all aspects of Quality Assurance and Risk Management
  • HIV testing and pre/post counseling.
