LGBTQI (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning and intersex) Health has been recognized by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as well as by the Institute of Medicine as an area in dire need of attention and resources. In order to inform health professionals and health professions students about the specific health needs of sexual and gender minorities (SGMs), as well as the considerable health disparities experienced by these populations, the SN's LGBT Health Working Group is pleased to bring you a full day of education on these issues.

  • Describe some of the unique challenges of being "out" as an LGBTQI elder.
  • Discuss barriers to quality palliative care/end-of-life care experienced by LGBTQI elders and how these barriers can be overcome.
