Sleep Disorders - Diagnosis, Management and Referral

If you are a Nurse Practitioner perplexed about:
- how to take a sleep history
- or what to do when your patient complains about difficulty falling asleep, difficulty maintaining sleep, or awakening too early in the morning (and your only answer is a hypnotic prescription)
- or you are not sure when to refer on for polysomnographic testing
- or what childhood nocturnal behaviors require treatment
- or what to do when a college student describes his usual bedtime is at 2 am and he is unable to make any of his morning classes
Come and learn about sleep disorders with Dr. Leslie-Faith Morritt Taub, an Adult and Gerontologic Nurse Practitioner certified in behavioral sleep medicine, and Dr. Barbara Caldwell, a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and sleep researcher.
