Women's Health Symposium

Women’s Health has now been recognized as a specialty area. It has been accepted that the presentation, progress and outcome of disease are unique to women. Commonly accepted male symptomatology are not representative of the onset of disease in women. This Symposium will focus on Women’s Health with its close ties to the cultural role of women in diverse populations.
Objectives :
- Discuss current screening modalities and treatment of breast cancer with a focus on the genetic influence of the disease.
- Discuss current contraceptive choices for women from all cultural , religious and age related perspectives .
- Focus on providing culturally sensitive health care that will attract and serve women of all ages across diverse backgrounds.
- Provide "straight talk" about obesity and eating well for a culturally diverse population.
